Phantasmagoria
Dadar station is not very friendly. You dont have to be there to know you just have to look at the faces of people getting into the train when it stops at that station. Yup...about a 100 Kodak moments right there.
Everything from anger, nostril hair, stained teeth or no teeth, elbows in peoples eyes....basically adrenaline oozing out their pores.
I however, have first hand experience of the whole spectacle, because I've bestowed upon myself the priveledge of being in the eye of the storm....literally.
Everyday, i amble down that slope of the bridge taking care not to fall on my ass and reach the platform, eventually. Then as if sensing the levels of adrenalin pumping thru my blood, my trustee iPod plays Arctic monkeys- Brianstorm. The woman announces that the train is comin. i check the indicator it says '1 minute.'
now im weaving thru people, and Alex Turner's talking about 'someone to kiss, someone to kick you' and i get stamped on the foot! ... oh, but im still makin my way around people, trying to get to that distant ladies compartment.
And im almost there and the train pulls into the station. Yup...i can already 'smell' the excitement on the people around me. Most of them gathering up their lungis, and the women they're saris and dupattas. Those can't be getting in the way when ur in that moment when your one with nature and your primal instincts kick in.
I reach the place where all the women are, ready to charge. Not calm, collected and comanding (Top marks for at least trying), i push my way to the front and then THUNder....
i can the hear metal of the footboard at the door being punished under fractious feet...
Im inside, somehow, with asolutely no idea wat i did to get in.
Within seconds, the train pulls out, the (brian)storming is over.
Im thinkin to myself, I'll c ya later, bloody stinker!

Subliminal
It was cold. Ilooked down at my feet, coz I couldn't feel my toes. They were wrinkled and slightly muddy. A leaf was stuck on one of them. "I'll have to get myself a pedicure when i get back!"
Ooo, she's getting pedicures now whispered a raspy voice in my ear. My heart stopped for a second. i turned around and no one was there.
I began to walk faster.Almost marching. The quick movements of my arms made fingers colder than they already were.I shoved my hands into my pockets and continued to walk fast.
"You finally kawlled!!! Where've you bin" yelled a woman on her cell phone, her eyes beaming
with fake concern. She was sitting in her car that was parked along the side of the road. I looked at her and smiled to myself remembering something from before.
As i walked the wind got stronger and the large drops began to hurt as they fell on me. I realized that my hood wasn't doing a good job protecting my already aching head and my T-shirt was beginning to get wet underneath the jacket. I took it off. Within sseconds I was soaked. I stretched out my arms and looked up into the night and said " Great! Life couldn't get better."
As i slapped my palms down, I heard a screech. I turned around to see a car skidding off the road, coming straight at me. I stood and stared at the bright yellow lights gaining on me, transfixed, like at that moment God decided to teach me a lesson for complaining.
The very next second, a truck came out from an intersection at full speed and rammed into the car.
I suddenl realized that it was the same car i saw a few minutes ago.

The Brain Deaders
Have you ever watched soo much tv that your mind is numb? you feel like theres nothing in your head coz your brain is on vacation.
When your at home n u have nothing else to do except watch tv, your damaging your brain!!!
The electromagnetic waves and the different sounds that emanate frm that box, penetrate your face. the waves pierce thru ur cornea and your aural orifices and eventually reach your brain. it reaches your brain cells and their surfaces get vaporised by the dozen, much like this game called chain reaction i was playing on bored.com.
now when the cell surfaces get vaporized, all u have is the gooey, liquidy, semisolid (i guess) cytoplasm and maybe some other plasm. And this my friend is wat makes u get that numb feelin inside your head. thats coz theres a lot of plasm floating arnd in ur skull.
The clinical symptoms of this situation include sleepy or maybe stoned eyes, lethargy, an unusual craving for potato chips or any other fried thing which may eventually cause u to develop a slightly rounded belly, watching programs like fashion house, heroes, oprah, the bold and the beautiful etc.
If you come across any such individual, the least u can do is buy him/her a big bag of chips. the poor creatures are mentally challenged, but will always remember ur selfless act of kindness.

Lighter Shade of Pale
The last thing she heard was the crackling sound of the drops of water falling on the granite floor under her.
Hours later, a woman knocked on the bathroom door calling out to her daughter. She could hear the shower, but thats all she could hear. Her cries became frantic. She sought help from a man. He tried to break open the door. The solid teak structure wouldnt budge. After examining the lock, he asked her for a screwdriver. After a couple of tries, the lock opened.
Pressing down the shiny silver handle, he pushed the door. They were consumed by fog that smelled of roses of some such flower. And then suddenly, the condensed steam on they're bodies seemed to freeze. A rush of cold passed thru' their bodies and they stood there, frozen.
It was like time itself had stopped or that someone pushed the pause button.
A girl was sitting under the shower, on the cold granite floor. Her arms hugging her knees, her head bent over, long curly hair reaching her thighs , covering her face.
They touched her, she didn't move. They shook her and called out her name. She fell, her head making a thud on the wall next to her.
And again time froze. The horrified woman stopped breathing, making you wonder if a large hand reached into her chest and grabbed her heart so tight , it ached. All the while she watched the naked lifeless body of her daughter, while listening to the crackling of the water around her.
On the back of the door, they found a towel, a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. In one of the pockets ther was a pack of cigarettes, a lighter and a rolled up wad of notes. The other had a little white packet.

WIDE OPEN SPACES
Shimmering blues and golds
Across the horizon
Staring into the blackness
Trying to take it in whole.
And all I can feel is the wind in my face
And all Ican hear is the crashing of the waves.
She invites me to touch and feel
And I walk up to her, like im in this dream
Slowly consuming, bit by bit
I can feel her touch me like Im her child
"Welcome home" as if to say
'Please dont ever go away'
And Iwalked into the blackness,
Comforted by the void
Inching closer into exquisite tenderness
All I see is black and silver
Then there's this deafening silence
And all my inhibitions slip thru' my fingers.
Across the horizon
Staring into the blackness
Trying to take it in whole.
And all I can feel is the wind in my face
And all Ican hear is the crashing of the waves.
